Autumn in Enschede

Although leaves are falling from the trees and we would like to stay indoors more often, autumn is the perfect season to undertake fun activities. What about the (cultural) activities or shopping sessions that you have planned for so long. With the following tips you will certainly enjoy the fall season!

Visit a show

Taste some culture this fall during a performance. The theaters in Enschede have plenty of shows planned. Visit Wilminktheater and Muziekcentrum, Concordia, Vestzak Theater or Vrijhof Cultuurcentrum for a theater or music performance. You can go to Metropool for a good concert.

The month of September is always the start of a new theater season, so the choice is huge! We also keep track of all shows in our agenda.

Catch a movie

If you want to go to the movies, you can visit one of the two locations of Kinepolis. With one location in the city centre and one loation at Go Planet Parc, you can always find something you like. Are you more interested in cultural movies? Then Concordia is worth a visit. Concordia offers a full programme with cultural movies, such as Expat Cinema.

The season of bock beer

When you think of autumn, you think of (bock) beer. Enschede is bursting with beer hotspots, breweries and specialty beers. For example, did you know that De Beiaard has a special beer evening every Sunday evening? That Enschede has its own city brewery in the middle of the city center? Or that you can book very nice guided tour at Grolsch? In addition, you can order a bock beer at every café.

Also nice: you can order a 'High Beer' at various cafes in the city. A beer tasting with all kinds of snacks. That sounds good right?

Get inspired at one of the museums

Is there bad weather but you still want to do something? Visit one of the museums in Enschede. At De Museumfabriek they don't only celebrate autumn with fun exhibitions, but also with various workshops. You can follow all kinds of lectures and mini-lectures. Super fun right? At Rijksmuseum Twenthe you can take a look at the impressive exhibition by Claudy Jongstra until the 1st of November.
