Quote Jury: "Marion is a cannon! An unadulterated opera singer with an endearing personality. Her empathy and expressiveness are admirable. "

When the jury describes a singer as "cannon" then the audience knows that an expressive soprano appears on the scene. This program gives Marion Dumeige the opportunity to showcase her talent in every respect. With love arias from La Bohème and Don Giovanni and romantic songs such as Claire de lune and Gretchen am Spinnrade, the French soprano creates her own intimate solo opera. She sings about a love story accompanied by a storyteller. Unlike the classics by Puccini and Mozart, the end of Dumeige's story is not fixed and the audience decides: will there be forgiveness or will it end in a break?

French soprano Marion Dumeige is quickly becoming recognized for the beauty of her voice, her sensitive artistry, and her musical versatility in a wide-ranging repertoire that spans the Baroque period through 21st century contemporary music. As said by the professional jury of Dutch Classical Talent Tour and Award: "Marion is a cannon! A true opera singer with an engaging personality. Her empathy and expressiveness are admirable "."

She is one of the laureates of the 2020/2021 edition of the Dutch Classical Talent Tour & Award. In this context she was offered a tour of twelve concerts in The Netherlands. She will present a participative and intimate miniature opera.

As a member of the young artist program at the Festival Lyrique de Belle-Ile en Mer, Ms. Dumeige performed the roles of Violetta and Manon in excerpts of Verdi's La Traviata and Massenet's Manon. She has also performed La Baronne in Offenbach's La Vie Parisienne and Catherine in his operetta Pomme d'api.

On the concert stage, Ms. Dumeige has been the soprano soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria, Stravinsky’s Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Dvořák’s Te Deum and Rheinberger’s Stabat Mater.

Ms. Dumeige studied at the Conservatoire de Caen and the Conservatoire de Rennes in France before coming to The Netherlands where she finished her voice bachelor's degree at Het Conservatorium van Amsterdam in June 2018. Two years later she graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy where she performed the role of Tigrane in Handel's Radamisto and The Countess of Dunmow in Berkeley's A Dinner Engagement. Ms. Dumeige is now studying with Margreet Honig and Selma Harkink.
